Top tips for creating great leaflets

1. Consider folding and think outside the box

Many people will just consider a standard fold when it comes to leaflets. But, there are so many more options for you and your brand, why not consider using folds to help make your flyer a little bit different? Read our recent article on using paper folds to give your flyer added impact to get more information on types of folding available to you.

2. Content & proofing

Content needs to be simple, straightforward and engaging. Don’t bombard your leaflet with unnecessary and boring information. Let the images, texts and headlines speak for themselves and adopt a less is more approach.

Be sure to proofread every inch of leaflet and get someone from outside the business to proof it after that. Make sure you customers can clearly understand your offering. If you are promoting a sale or range of products, be sure that you have the correct price or dates included.

3. Define your audience

Asking yourself who your customer is will define your leaflet. If you think everyone is your customer, you are incorrect. Everyone needs to define their customer by age, location and social/geographical status. For example, an expensive product needs to reach the right person; there is no sense in casting a wide net, you will have a specific customer reach. The same will apply for a cheaper lower end product.

4. Images & graphics

Images can have a huge impact on all marketing material, especially if you are promoting products or a service. The visual quality of your images and graphics will have a direct association with your product or service. Remember that your images must be high quality, don’t risk using “ok” images because this will only deter from brand image.

 5. Understand your audience

Using the right font, and understanding the importance of layout and format is vital. You need to consider the fact that most people read from left to right and top to bottom – know and understand the psychology of reading and you’re leaflet will be well received.
