What are Crop Marks?

Crop marks, also known as trim marks, are lines printed from the corners of your sheet, or sheets, of paper to show us where to guillotine. When an image or color on the page extends past the crop marks on the sheet, it is regarded as bleed.

crops explained

When printing your artwork we print onto sheets that are larger in size. We then trim it down to the correct size using the crop marks as a guide. For example we can place 2 A4 sheets side by side onto an SRA3 sheet, this is also know as imposing the A4 2up on a sheet. After we have printed the imposed job we know where to cut the sheet because the crop marks tell us where to cut to make your finished job.
