The role of brochure printing in marketing « Back to list

Almost every business will print a brochure at one point or another. It’s a popular way of getting information to the right people and the right time. But, is that the only reason to print a brochure? No. Brochure printing is a great marketing tool and a great way to connect with your audience. Here are our top 3 reasons why.

1. We are kinetic:

As consumers, even as people; we are always moving. With the invention of smart phones, tablets, laptops and Smart TV’s, the world has never been so fast paced! And it’s excellent. However, there is still something about brochures that has survived the test of time, despite all of today’s technology. We are always on the move, always busy and always rushing and we don’t always have the time to go looking for information. It’s convenient to know I can search for different coffee shops in my area and find one with great reviews, but what if I’m too tired to go looking? Then I’ll be grateful for that brochure handed to me on the street that I stuffed into my back pocket. I’ve got all the information I need, when I need it. Brochures hang around and hang on to us, regardless of how fast we move.

2. Business bodies & connection:

We love to find information about companies online, be that through a website or a social media channel. We love to do it on our own because we want too, but often we are not fond of being told to go and look for something. It can feel intrusive or even rude to be told by a sales person or business to go and find information online yourself. If we have an interest in something, then we want information then and there and we feel this is our right as a consumer (and rightly so!). We want professional, informative and engaging content that will tell us more about a certain product or service. We like it because it’s tangible and personal and if given by a professional sales person, then it’s likely that we will engage in conversation and connect. It’s vital that a business connects with its consumer in an age of digital technology, we as the consumer need to feel the personal side of business and a brochure of high quality (e.g. saddle stitched) does this perfectly.

3. Clear, concise, creative:

A brochure offers you the opportunity to be clear, concise & creative. It’s a chance to show off your marketing skills and impress your customer. Whilst you can do this online via your website, you can’t offer the same conciseness. For example, if you are a restaurant owner- your primary audience will want to see your menu, not your business history. For this reason, people are put off visiting websites, especially if they have already visited your establishment before. A brochure in the form of a printed leaflet can be used to print something like a menu, and this can be stuck up on your fridge, or kept beside the phone so that it is easily accessible an on hand when you fancy booking a table or ordering a takeaway.
