4 ways to reduce costs and keep quality when printing leaflets « Back to list

When deciding to print leaflets, like all things in life, we get what we pay for. It’s important to consider price but it’s more important to consider quality in relation to price. The last thing you want to do is cheapen your business and your reputation, only to deter from it by creating cheap and unsightly leaflets which you are directly targeting the most important people with (your customers, current and future). Here are some tips to help reduce costs when printing leaflets whilst still maintaining quality.

1) Get your artwork and copy right, the first time

It may seem like the easiest and most obvious thing to ensure when printing leaflets, but in reality this is one of the most common reasons that companies are forced to reprint and incur unnecessary costs. The solution is simple, don’t proof read in house. Instead, get someone from outside the business like a professional copywriter. This way, you are not in danger of missing something and causing unnecessary stress to you and your staff, who will not be trained professionals in this department. Don’t be tempted to send out leaflets with small mistakes, someone will notice and you may become a social media joke.

Or worse; adding corrections manually – e.g. placing stickers over mistakes. This will automatically cheapen your brand and deter from your image.

2) Use recycled paper

Many companies believe that recycled paper is of a lesser quality than normal paper. This may have been true some years ago, but with the reality of new technology and a growing population of concerned environmentalists; this couldn’t be further from the truth. Using recycled paper will not only mean that you are getting a quality paper for a lesser price but it will also mean that you are looking after your carbon footprint and doing your bit for Corporate Social Responsibility. You can find out more about the different types of recycled paper and their quality here.

3) Consider the size

In today’s world, we’re all a bunch of information seeking individuals. We usually go online to get all the information we need but your leaflet offers you a unique opportunity to present information in a personalised way. This is your opportunity to impress and make an impact and you may well find that you have lots to say. If you don’t have the space, don’t cram or cut back. Simply invest in a bigger leaflet and fold it. This is neater, cheaper and an all round nicer alternative. Check out the below folding options offered here at Digital Printing and don’t be afraid to get creative.

4) Do your homework

Printing leaflets can be an expensive business and you need to be sure that your chosen printing company have an excellent reputation. A good printing business will hide nothing from you, and they should have an open customer review section on their website. They should also have lots of channels for you to make contact with them. Don’t deal with shady companies, who are hard to reach or have an elusive online presence, you’re simply putting your money, and the quality of leaflet that you will receive at risk.
